SEPHORA Favorites – Draw the Line

Recently I purchased the Sephora Favorites Draw the Line Eyeliner Sampler. It is limited edition, and sold out on Sephora online. You might still be able to find it in stores though! It's located in the check out line with all of the other travel sized, sampler products.

First off, I luvvv samplers!!! When it comes to samplers I am such a sucker! In my head they are such a good deal! This sampler is $30.00 in the US with a $79.00 value, where in Canada it's $36.00 with a $94.00 value. Even though the Stila Smudge Stick is the only product that is full sized, I still think this is a great value! Mainly because you get to try 7 high end eyeliners without having to pay full price for each one, which would be wayyy more than $30! This is great for people who like to wear black eyeliner, experiment with black eyeliner, explore pencil vs. liquid/marker eyeliner, and try out different brands to find which they like best!

In the sampler you get 7 eyeliners. Technically there are only 6 eyeliners, but since the Urban Decay eyeliner is double ended I count it as 7! Two being "liquid" eyeliners, I would call them marker/felt tip eyeliner, but I guess that doesn't sound as smooth as liquid eyeliner. One is an actual liquid eyeliner. The other 4 eyeliners are pencil eyeliners. I was a little disappointed that only liquid eyeliner in the sampler wasn't what I expected. I was looking for more a liquidy eyeliner, just because at the moment I don't own a single liquid eyeliner. That and adding an actual liquid eyeliner would make the sample more complete in my opinion!

SEPHORA COLLECTION LONG-LASTING 12HR: It didn't say on the back of the box with all of the descriptions, but this is 02 Glitter Black. Glitter eyeliner isn't exactly my go to, and I was kind of surprised when I first swatched it on my hand and saw it. I have yet to wear this eyeliner, but I would wear this type of eyeliner for a night out, or for Halloween makeup! It's not a very intense glitter eyeliner which is good, does seem like you'd have to do another black eyeliner base, and then put this glitter eyeliner on top, just because it's quite transparent in the above swatch.

MAKE UP FOR EVER AQUA EYES: This one comes in waterproof Matte Black 0L. Haha, for some reason it amazes me that they have 27 different colors for this eyeliner!!! I wore this last night, for a subtle smokey eye look. It has a good consistency, and smudges well. I like it for a good "basic" black pencil eyeliner.

STILA SMUDGE STICK : This pencil eyeliner comes in waterproof Stingray - jet black. I also used this eyeliner last night! This is suchhh a great creamy pigmented eyeliner! However, because it is soo creamy it did smudge/transfer onto my upper lid. Then again I wasn't wearing any eyeshadow that time, an easy fix I'm sure! I still like this one the best out of all of the rest! It really took me by surprise how much I like it! At first I tried to use the Make Up For Ever liner to tight line, and it didn't transfer well at all. Then I used this one and it worked amazingly! I highly recommend this for tight lining or for your water line!

***WARNING: I've never owned a Stila eyeliner so I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but once you roll this eyeliner up you can't roll it back down! Also, you have to push down and twist at the same time to get the product to come up. Be veryyy slow and careful!!!!! Trust me you don't want to roll up more than you need! It can be disastrous!***

EYEKO LONDON SKINNY LIQUID : Again, I would call this a marker/felt tip eyeliner, in waterproof Black. I had never heard of this brand before buying this sampler, I quite like it. It has a medium-thick tip, and gives off good color, and applies easily. This works great for when you want to do a cat eye. Also, when they say smudge-proof they mean it! Once this dries you are good to go for the day!

STILA STAY ALL DAY : Waterproof "liquid" eyeliner in Black. This is the second market/felt tip eyeliner in the sampler. Compared to the Eyeko London liner it is very similar in color, consistency, and application. However, the Stila liner has a thinner more fine tip, that makes it easier to line the inner part of the eye. Again, this one is also great for doing a cat eye. I prefer using a marker/felt tip liner for a winged/cat eye because, for me, the line comes out more exact and precise.

URBAN DECAY 24/7 GLIDE-ON : This is the last of the pencil eyeliners. On the left is Demolition - Matte Deep Brown; right Perversion - Matte Blackest Black. First off, more so than the Make Up For Ever eyeliner, it has a huge selection of colors available. It has an impressive array of black, gray, and brown, as well as other shades! I mainly mentioned black, gray, and brown, because that is in my comfort zone and what I wear 98% of the time! I have yet to try Demolition, but Perversion is a great staple matte black eyeliner. It 'glides on', smudges if you want to make a softer or smokey look, stays well even though it's not waterproof, and easily washes off.

To remove my makeup at the end of the day I usually kill two birds with two stones and just use my
Biore face wash. If there is some remaining makeup, I just take a q-tip with some lotion on it and wipe off the rest. Which may be good or bad but seems to work just fine for me! However, with the eyeliners in this sampler, since most of them are waterproof my face wash/lotion q-tip isn't cutting it.
I had purchased the Neutrogena Travel Size Makeup Remover Towelettes, just because I had never really tried them before, and I thought it would be good for trips in case I needed to do a hillbilly face wash. First off, the one I got was somewhat defective, the plastic between the sticker like opening and the towelettes came off. So, all of my towelettes dried up! Ugh, right?! Well, I discovered if you wet them and wring out the excess water it revives them. After reviving my towelette, I removed the left over makeup from after washing my face. I'm not sure if it's because I've been having eye problems recently, but the Neutrogena wipes made my eye and the surrounding area burn! I need to start exploring different make up removers! I've heard great things about Bioderma....hmmm
